American Furniture Warehouse has signed on, for the first time, to be a sponsor in this year’s Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” – as the official Volunteer Sponsor of the race.

Susan G. Komen Foundation was established in 1992, and is now an international organization with a network of 100,000 volunteers working through 125 local affiliates. Together, the Foundation has raised over $1 Billion for the fight against breast cancer.

The Denver Affiliate of the Foundation has a mission to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find a cure. As part of the sponsorship, AFW donated $17,500 directly to the local Susan G. Komen affiliate. Together, we can find a cure!

This year’s event had over 54,000 participants, and many more spectators. The event raised over $2 Million dollars for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, of which 75% will stay here in Colorado to fight against cancer and raise awareness locally. The other 25% will go towards national research programs.
